Richard Stone is our Managing Director and began Stone Lawyers in mid-2009 having formed Stone Lawyers - Australia in early 2008. He spent the decade from 1998 working in New Zealand competition law enforcement and private legal practice, including three years as an Associate at a large Australian law firm. He has extensive experience in two jurisdictions and across all of our practice areas.

Richard holds Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM Hons) degrees. He is admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand (1997), Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland (2003), Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of New South Wales (2003) and Solicitor of the High Court of Australia (2004).

Richard holds current principal-level practising certificates from both the New Zealand and Queensland law societies as much of our work is trans-tasman, and is our first point of contact.
